How we calculate

  1. Every item has a market price band. We take the number of centerpieces from your floor plan or assume about 1 table per 9 guests.
  2. Out of season (October-April) flowers cost about 20% more - most US wedding flowers are imported year-round, so the swing is smaller than with local blooms. More greenery instead of flowers cuts the price of large arrangements by about 25%.
  3. Delivery, setup, and breakdown are the florist’s labor, so they do not depend on the season or the flowers.

Questions and answers

How many centerpieces do we need?

One for every round table and one every 5 feet or so on long tables. On long farm tables, a garland running the whole length usually looks better than separate arrangements.

How do we save on wedding flowers?

Reuse ceremony arrangements at the reception, choose flowers that are in season, and mix in more greenery. Bud vases with single stems are the cheapest centerpieces that still look full.
